Once we have a Site Design to work from, we will need to convert the graphics into elements, themes, and layouts we can use to produce a consistent site theme and a template page you can use to build new pages on your site.

This service includes:

  • Breaking down the treatment into component images
  • Naming, saving, and uploading the images
  • Setting size parameters, links, and alt tags for images (where appropriate)
  • Setting up Cascading Style Sheets to control font and color themes site wide in regions of the design not using graphics (This significantly speeds up load time and facilitates long term maintenance)
  • Formatting the site theme in HTML and integrating JavaScript effects where necessary
  • Breaking out the site theme regions into a header region, a menu region, and a footer region
  • Wrapping this theme arround your core functionality (such as StoreFront or Page Contents Administrator) to produce an easily managed, completely consistent site theme.
  • Producing a template page you can use to create any new page and have all site theme issue accounted for automatically.

NOTE: We do NOT use FrontPage shared borders or DreamWeaver shared regions for this. We use Server Side Includes which are completely compatible with all server and browser systems. This is the MOST efficient way to optimize your site's server resources.

Sites with content managed by the Site Contents Administrator WILL be able to preview a  page with all theme elements.

Sites running custom platforms or a StoreFront 5 shopping cart core WITHOUT also having the Site Contents Administrator will not be able to display the contents of these regions in either FrontPage or DreamWeaver design views (or "WYSIWYG" views) -- That is, your template pages will only reveal the contents region in which you can safely work; the reset will be invisible unless you open the include file for any particular region. For instance, you would have one file for the banner region, one for the menu region, and on for the footer region. Editing any one of these files will instantly update every page on your site.
